March 8, 2009

The next meeting is March 8, right after the show.

  • The taking of gift cards at the sales table (they look like regular credit cards) My suggestion is to take them from people we know. getting full contact information and writing it on back of charge slip.
  • Also if the Credit Card Amounts are to low The Treasurer won't run them until we have other charge activity because of the cost. I suggest we quit taking charges at small events like Academy or only for large amounts, The amounts to be determined by the EC. I will check with Tech Soup for a company that might charge less if at all to process charges. Example for Chattacon weh had 48.00 in Charges Echo would have charged 20.00 to process the charges so we would have made 28.00 dollars in charge sales. We need to find a cheaper processor. Because We will start to lose customers who use debit cards by waiting to process the charge to long it messes up the checking account. I know I use a debit card for most of my purchases.
  • Cassette Tapes Liberty would be not only delighted but grateful to take them off our hands for their charity auction.
  • Regarding the POS software we need to have it up a running by LibertyCon Introducing a new program at Dragon would be impossible. Also please be aware that you will not get all the information on the customer with every sale. It simply is not possible. Sales comes in waves. We will do our best to collect it when we can but the sale is primary, information will be our last concern.
  • All the above (except where noted --dB) was submitted by Nancy by Direction from Oreta
  • LibertyCon 2012 is their 25th Anniversary. They are planning a major blowout and we are a part of those plans our show should be extra special.
  • ACPA membership renewal
  • Atlanta Showguide offer - rates and writeup in the upcoming issue
  • ARTC records - what do we have?
    • Any outside organization with which ARTC as a company has an account should have information collected and turned over to the Secretary.
    • Including account usernames/numbers, passwords, summary of what the company does, and which members/officers preside over the administration of the account.
